Please post in the comments with any extra ideas, we want to get a good list going for all those with mega tvs.
1) Make your own longer sensor bar to fit your tv.
2) Put the sensor bar closer to you, on a table, instead of on the top of your TV. (wireless sensor bar may help with this)
3) Use 2 candles instead of the sensor bar.
