Allegedly, a Nintendo European rep recently revealed that a demo channel for Wii is on the way. Information and details of this possibly new channel were not available/
Theoretically, Wii owners could download playable demos (or view trailers) through the new channel. The service would more than likely be free of charge and would give gamers a way to preview upcoming games. Additionally, demos for DS games could also be downloaded and played on the DS.
This would be a great addition to any Wii, and hopefully we can see it soon!

2This only makes sense. The first day I had my Wii I was thinking how easy (and smart) it would be for them to do this.

3Tim,
where did you get this information? I didn’t see a source so I thought perhaps you had a great connection with Nintendo of europe?
also, since you said it was very easy to put downloadable demo content in wii, I’m very impressed because you must program wii internet protocol to even have the most remote grasp of its difficulty. further you said it was smart and obviously you are a man of economics tim, however I believe it would be rather costly to build a demo, host it somewhere, and set aside servers to run it plus hire administrators to keep the servers running. those dollars and man hours would be better spent elsewhere I’d venture.
then again I don’t have a sweet wii blog with a snappy name so what do I know tim am i right!

5Lol, that post by “Tim” above was not written by me Butch. The email was do@notsend.com, and my comments should show up timelf123 anyway…
This is very relevant to Wii hacking, because this means that we may be a step closer to homebrew

7except Xbox live costs money, so it pays for itself. wfc is free, where is that funding going to come from?
further, xbox live did not have downloadable demos until the release of the 360 which was about 3 years after the release of the xbox live service. in other words, they were way later in the timeline than where nintendo is right now.
